JOHANNES BRAHMS: Concerto No. 1 in D minor for Piano and Orchestra, Opus 15
Artistic mastery defines this program as the legendary Marc-André Hamelin performs Brahms’ monumental Piano Concerto No. 1. A true titan of the repertoire, this concerto is celebrated for its searing intensity and profound emotional depth. The theatrical wit and dark mischief of Mozart’s Overture to Don Giovanni opens the concert, followed by the world premiere of Jonathan Leshnoff’s Symphony No. 7, a bold work of fresh, contemporary energy.
