YPN Member Spotlight: Alexis Soulias, Keysight
YPN member spotlights are a quick introduction to some of our favorite YPN members. This month, we're spotlighting Alexis Soulias, R&D Firmware/Software Engineer at Keysight Technologies.

What do you enjoy most about YPN?
I really enjoy the diverse community and support YPN provides. Having moved from the East Coast right out of college, being in California and starting a full time job were really big changes for me, and in the past two years since being here, YPN has provided me with an amazing group of people that I otherwise might not have met!
If you are new and haven’t experienced what YPN has to offer – what are you hoping to accomplish within this community?
I'm hoping to continue to meet new people and maybe be a friendly face to someone else who is new to the area and community as I was previously.
What sort of events, mixers, etc. would you like to attend with YPN?
I would like to attend more trivia or activity-based events!
What are you most excited for this year?
I'm really excited for the summer and the weather! I really love Santa Rosa and California in general in the summer. I went to Tahoe a lot over the past winter to snowboard, and I'm looking forward to going back and seeing Lake Tahoe in the summer. I really miss being able to swim without a wetsuit at the beaches on the East Coast, so I'm really trying to find some alternatives this summer or just travel to SoCal haha.
Whether it is “Hakuna Matata” “Carpe Diem” or “Just Do IT” - Do you have a motto in life?
"Don't worry about controlling the uncontrollable." My mom would say this to me a lot growing up whenever I was upset or frustrated at the outcome of something that I wasn't able to control. Sometimes you can do everything right and something still goes wrong, so there's no point in wasting time or energy in something you didn't have control over. As long as you're doing your best to handle what you can, then that's all you really can do.
What is your favorite way to spend your day off?
My perfect day off would start with a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel, followed by some outdoor activity with friends: a hike, pickleball, skateboarding, etc. and then I'd like to spend the rest of the day relaxing: reading a good book or playing guitar while I watch tv. There'd also be a really tasty dinner mixed in there (preferably not something I cooked, I'm not the best chef haha)
