What Guides Our Voice in Public Policy
The Santa Rosa Metro Chamber’s 2026 Local and State Policy Platform is more than an annual list of priorities. It is the guiding document behind the Chamber’s advocacy work, helping shape the conversations we have with elected officials, policymakers and community leaders throughout the year.
Developed through the leadership of the Chamber’s Advocacy Council, the platform reflects the issues and priorities our business community believes are important to building a strong, resilient and prosperous region. It provides a shared framework for how the Chamber evaluates legislation, responds to emerging policy issues and advocates on behalf of our members and the broader business community.
A guide for action
While the policy platform is updated annually, its purpose extends far beyond its publication. Throughout the year, it informs the Chamber’s conversations with local and state elected officials, letters and statements on legislation, meetings with policymakers, and our participation in broader regional and statewide advocacy efforts.
It also provides consistency. As new issues emerge and policy decisions move forward, the platform helps us determine where the Chamber should engage, what position best reflects our members’ priorities and how we can be most effective in advancing those priorities.
In other words, this is the roadmap we use when we advocate.
Built by our members
The strength of the platform comes from the people behind it. The Chamber’s Advocacy Council brings together members from across the business community to identify emerging challenges, evaluate policy proposals and help establish the Chamber’s advocacy priorities.
Their work ensures that our policy positions are grounded in the experiences and needs of the businesses, organizations and industries that make up our membership.
The 2026 platform outlines the Chamber’s priorities across key local and state policy issues, providing a clear foundation for engagement throughout the year.
