Valley Fire Relief and Fundraising Efforts
The Valley Fire has been devastating to our neighbors in Lake County, consuming 70,000 acres and hundreds of structures. Many businesses and organizations are doing their part to support relief and fundraising efforts, but much more help will be needed in the coming week and months to rebuild.
Redwood Credit Union (RCU) has established a Lake County Fire Victims Fund and is accepting contributions to assist those impacted by the fires that started in Lake County on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Anyone can make a secure donation online at www.redwoodcu.org/lakecountyfirevictims or at any of RCU's 16 Bay Area branch locations, and 100% of funds will go directly to aid those impacted by the devastating fires. RCU's fire relief fund was created in partnership with Santa Rosa's Press Democrat and in conjunction with Senator Mike McGuire.
Contributions to the fund may be made securely online via credit card or at any RCU location via cash deposit, direct funds transfer, or checks payable to Lake County Fire Victims Fund.
"Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fires," said Brett Martinez, RCU's President and CEO. "Accepting financial contributions for the fire relief efforts is the best way we can respond to the requests of people who want to help, and provide assistance to those who need it most."
RCU has also created special loan and financial assistance programs for those who have been directly impacted by the fires. For more information on these programs, please call 1 (800) 479-7928 option 3, 6.
If your business or organization is coordinating fundraising efforts, let us know on the Chamber's Facebook page so we can share that information.
