Ten Triumphs from 2012

Thanks to you, your Chamber accomplished great things that helped business in our community this past year, including:
- Sonoma County BEST was launched, and in its first year helped area businesses create 841 jobs.
- The Convention & Visitors Bureau Welcome Center provided 45,000 visitors with information and referrals to our members, resulting in an estimated $4.9 million in visitor spending with those members.
- Over 6,000 business professionals took advantage of the network-building, educational and community involvement opportunities created by the Chamber to grow their businesses.
- In its five years, YPN has provided network-building and development opportunities to nearly 1,000 young professionals to help keep their skills and talents in our community.
- 2012 election endorsements and recommendations yielded four City Council and County Supervisor candidates elected and four ballot issue victories.
- Leadership Santa Rosa graduated its 850th community leader in Class XXVIII and continues its long tradition of fostering effective community leadership.
- The Chamber worked with over 50 businesses representing over 5,000 employees in pursuit of best family-friendly practices in support of early childhood development for the next-generation of our workforce.
- 74 member businesses used our Member to Member Discount program to drive business to themselves while saving our members money on needed products and services.
- The Chamber’s Advocacy Council successfully fought for area businesses on local issues including economic development augments, zoning for wineries and tasting rooms in downtown Santa Rosa, and expansion plans for the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport.
- The Convention & Visitors Bureau played a critical role in bringing the overall finish of the 2013 Amgen Tour of California to Santa Rosa, and along with it primetime coverage on NBC.
