Santa Rosa Water is Here to Help You Save!
Drought is still here, which means it’s critical that we all commit to eliminating water waste and make changes that save water.
In response to regional water supply conditions, including historically low reservoir storage, the City of Santa Rosa continues to require a 20% mandatory communitywide reduction in water use. In addition, the following water use restrictions are still in effect for all Santa Rosa businesses:
- Water waste due to breaks, leaks, or excess use is prohibited.
- Using potable water for washing hard surfaces unless required for public health and safety is prohibited.
- Hose end shut-off nozzles are required for all hoses.
- Restaurants may only serve water upon request.
- Hotel and lodging establishments must message about the drought, including laundering of linens only upon request.
- Pressure washing with potable water (except for public health and safety) is prohibited unless a variance is obtained from Santa Rosa Water.
- Landscape irrigation is limited to the hours of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Santa Rosa Water is offering a number of free materials to help our community and your business comply with these restrictions:
- “Drought is Here. Save Water” static clings for windows or mirrors
- “Water Gladly Served. Just Ask!” tabletop cards for restaurants
- “Drought is Here. Save Water” towel and linen cards for hotel and lodging
- “Drought is Here. Save Water” yard signs for home/business (8’x4’ banners/installation also available)
Additional free services include an onsite WaterSmart Indoor and Outdoor Checkup with a customized report for your business that includes current water use findings and recommendations to improve water use efficiency, and rebates to help incentivize project implementation that will not only save water, but also can lower overhead costs and increase property value.
