Santa Rosa & San Rafael Chambers of Commerce Endorse Marc Levine for District 10 Assembly
In a statement unique in recent memory, the Santa Rosa and San Rafael Chambers of Commerce jointly announced today that they are both endorsing Marc Levine for the District 10 Assembly Seat. “We’re excited to take this step forward in our regional partnership with Santa Rosa through this election and this campaign,” said Rick Wells, President and CEO of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. “Coming together on this type of endorsement is unprecedented for our organizations. Earning the dual endorsement from both organizations shows that Marc is the ideal representative to understand and to address the critical issues around economic vitality in our region.”
In endorsing Levine, the Chambers cited a number of important factors. “First and foremost,” said Jonathan Coe, President of the Santa Rosa Chamber, “Marc is someone who will listen to the concerns and opinions of the business community. We very much want to be represented by people who can develop common sense solutions to problems. Solutions that are not driven by ideology but rather by what works. We believe that Marc is one of those people.”
Another key factor in the endorsement was Assemblyman Levine’s support of infrastructure projects critical to the area’s economy and businesses. Dan Condron, Chair of the Santa Rosa Chamber’s Political Action Committee noted that “Sonoma and Marin counties are linked by Highway 101 and the SMART train. Ongoing funding is needed for both projects and Marc is someone who understands that.”
In accepting the endorsement, Levine stated, “I’m pleased to receive the endorsements of the Santa Rosa and San Rafael Chambers of Commerce and honored by the broad support my campaign has earned from a wide array of local community leaders and organizations. I’m committed to continuing to work hard to create good local jobs and support an economy that is sustainable and works for everyone.”
The Santa Rosa and San Rafael Chambers are the two largest in Sonoma and Marin Counties and their member businesses are the backbone of the area’s economy.
