Santa Rosa Named Top Green Travel Destination

The Santa Rosa Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is proud to announce that Santa Rosa has been named one of the top ten U.S. destinations for green travel options by TravelNerd, the travel arm of consumer advocacy website NerdWallet. Consideration for these rankings included both initiatives to green the city as well as access to abundant nature and eco-friendly activities. TravelNerd cites Santa Rosa’s Built It Green program and highlights three CVB/Chamber Hospitality members as green, out-and-about activities: Bike Partners, Getaway Adventures and Sonoma Canopy Tours.

More than 60 percent of Americans plan on traveling this summer, and many of them are looking for greener ways to explore the world. According to a recent survey by AAA, more than 44% look for environmentally-friendly programs when choosing hotels – that’s more than seek pet-friendly (35%) or children’s program (23%) options.
