Santa Rosa Entrepreneurs Invited to Join First-Ever FREE Commercial Leasing Confidence Building Bootcamp

Small business owners who are considering expanding into a commercial space now have an opportunity to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate the commercial leasing process successfully.

Beginning August 8 - October 1, entrepreneurs are invited to participate in the first-ever free Commercial Leasing Confidence Building Bootcamp, an eight-week hybrid learning experience designed specifically for Santa Rosa small businesses that are ready to take the next step in their growth journey.

The program combines in-person and online instruction, providing participants with practical tools, expert guidance, and real-world insights into commercial leasing. Through weekly modules, attendees will build the skills needed to evaluate properties, understand lease agreements, prepare for negotiations, and avoid common leasing pitfalls.

"Securing a commercial space is one of the most significant commitments a business owner can make," said Scott Adair, Chief Economic Development Officer for the City of Santa Rosa, "This bootcamp is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and confidence they need to make informed decisions and position their businesses for long-term success."

Participants will gain:

• A stronger understanding of commercial leasing fundamentals
• Tools to assess whether a property aligns with the business’ goals
• Knowledge of common lease structures and obligations
• Insight into occupancy costs and budgeting considerations
• Strategies for evaluating opportunities and negotiating with confidence
• Resources and connections to support future business growth

Each week, participants will engage in a new module focused on building commercial leasing knowledge and readiness.

The program will conclude with a special in-person graduation ceremony where participants will be joined by local community and civic leaders and awarded a Certificate of Completion recognizing their achievement and commitment to business growth.
The Commercial Leasing Confidence Bootcamp is ideal for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and emerging business leaders who are considering opening a storefront, office, studio, restaurant, or other commercial location in the city of Santa Rosa.
