Preparing for a PG&E Power Shutoff
In collaboration with the County of Sonoma and City of Santa Rosa, we are reaching out to businesses to encourage proper preparations are made for the planned PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff by 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9th, 2019. Re-energization is anticipated to begin Thursday, October 10th, 2019, at noon. PG&E anticipates it could take up to 5 days to completely restore power to all impacted customers once power restoration begins. They are expecting significant damage to their system which will take time to repair.
Although the City and County are taking action to respond to the potential impacts of an extended loss of power should it occur, the decision to shut down the power and the speed at which it is restored comes solely from PG&E.
For updates and to identify service areas that may be affected by a potential power outage, businesses and residents should visit www.pge.com/psps and check individual addresses on PG&E’s interactive potential outage map. (Due to the high volume of web traffic, you may experience delays in accessing PG&E's website.)
