More than 1,200 students. More than 150 business partners. Nineteen years of inspiring future STEM leaders.
The Santa Rosa Metro Chamber recently celebrated the graduation of another class of students from the Mike Hauser Academy for STEM, recognizing the completion of a three-week immersive program that connects high school students with real-world careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Throughout the Academy, students visited local businesses, participated in hands-on projects, and learned directly from engineers, healthcare professionals, architects, manufacturers, builders, technicians, and other industry leaders. By stepping inside workplaces across Sonoma County, students gained a firsthand look at the opportunities available right here in our community.
The Mike Hauser Academy is made possible through the collaboration of local employers, educators, schools, and the Metro Chamber. Together, these partners create learning experiences that extend far beyond the classroom, helping students explore career pathways while building meaningful connections with the professionals shaping our region's future.
Named in honor of former Chamber President Mike Hauser, the Academy reflects his belief that every student deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and envision a future they may never have considered. His vision—that strong schools support a strong workforce, resilient economy, and thriving community—continues to guide the program today.
Now in its nineteenth year, the Mike Hauser Academy has introduced more than 1,200 students to STEM careers through partnerships with more than 150 local companies. As this year's graduates look ahead to their futures, they join a growing network of young innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders inspired by the possibilities that await them.
The Metro Chamber extends its sincere appreciation to the business hosts and industry professionals who generously opened their doors, shared their expertise, and donated hundreds of hours to invest in the next generation of our workforce.
