Members Making a Difference this Holiday Season
The Chamber has many members doing wonderful things to support our community this holiday season. Here’s what a few of your fellow members are up to:
Sonoma County Hospitality Group is holding their 4th Annual Toy Drive through the month of December at Rendez Vous Bistro, Flipside, & Space XXV. Drop off unwrapped gifts for all and receive a free dessert with the purchase of any food item. On December 15th, Space XXV will host the Gifts from the Heart Holiday Event – a fun filled night with silent auction items, food, & games; donations benefit the Holiday Feed held on the 24th at Rendez Vous. Please bring gifts and “in-kind” donations. And on December 24th, Rendez Vous Bistro will be the site of the 4th Annual Holiday Feed for the homeless and those in need. This is an annual event that the Rabbaa family puts on with the help of their generous employees and community members. If you and your friends/family are interested in volunteering your time or resources for any of these events please contact Michelle Jagelka at (707) 523-1400 ext 105.
Now through December 20th, Platypus Tours is collecting non-perishable food items for their 3rd Annual Fill-A-Bus with Food Campaign, delivering a bus-full of food to the Salvation Army. They’re happy to pick up donations in the Napa area, and drop-offs are accepted during business hours at their office: 101 S Coombs Street, Suite L in Napa. For more information, or to orchestrate a pick-up, call (707) 253-2723.
Soroptimist International of Santa Rosa is doing a sock drive for SAY (Social Advocates for Youth) and homeless youth with a goal of 3,000 pairs of socks. It’s their goal to assist SAY and our local homeless youth to keep warm and safe during this winter. In doing this simple act it will allow these kids to feel safe and utilize the many programs that SAY has to offer like helping teens with counseling, job training and placement, and life skills. Many former SAY kids end up finishing school, going to college, working with SAY and becoming active and productive adults in our community. For more information, contact Charlene Lennon at (707) 524-2114 or simply stop by the Chamber offices to drop off packages of socks.
If you’re serving the community this holiday season, we’d like to share your efforts: contact Kevin Stoll with press releases, submit events to our Community Calendar and share a post on our Facebook page.
