Meet Leah Frost, HR Administrative Assistant at Santa Rosa Community Health!

You’ve recently joined the YPN Board, welcome! What do you want fellow members to know about you?
I’m a “Jane of all trades!” I believe that my more than 25 years of administrative background brings much to the table; but more so since those years span several industries including: Security/Fire Alarms, the Funeral Industry, Jewish non-profits, Cannabis, to most recently the non-profit healthcare industry.

Where do you work, and what do you do??
I work at Santa Rosa Community Health or SRCH and I am the HR Administrative Assistant. I am usually a new employee’s first face-to-face contact and I always want to make the best impression that along with SRCH being a great place to work, we’re glad to have them aboard and I am here to help them transition to their new position as smoothly as possible. I am more than the person that on-boards them, I’m the person they can comfortably come to with any HR questions or issues.

What do you enjoy most about YPN? If you are new and haven’t experienced what YPN has to offer - what are you hoping to accomplish within this community?
While I am new to YPN, I most enjoy Professional Development Day! I attended in 2018 and found the connections and what I learned from the speakers, invaluable.
Whether a young millennial starting out in the workforce or a youngish Generation Xer with years of employment history; we all feel lost at one point or another as to whether we’re on the right career path. It is imperative to be able to connect or just listen to someone who’s gone through similar experiences and succeeded and/or failed.

What are you looking forward to the most as we make our way through Fall, personally or professionally?
On a personal level, this time of year marks all of the Jewish Holy Days and from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur is a time of reflection as well as asking forgiveness not only of others but of ourselves. One of my favorite Holy Days is Sukkot which is a festival celebrating the fall harvest and season; turning leaves, the air is a little crisper, a time of change.
On a professional level, I use this time to reflect on my relationships with me colleagues, my work priorities and what I can do to perform at my best. It’s all about keeping the scales balanced.

How long have you been in Sonoma County? If a short period where are you from originally?
I’ve lived in Sonoma County now for going on four years. While originally from Battle Creek, Michigan, I’ve spent the majority of my life living in Northern California from Ukiah to San Francisco and everywhere in between.

Whether it is “Hakuna Matata” “Carpe Diem” or “Just Do IT” - Do you have a motto in life?
I try to live by the words of Maya Angelou-
I’ve learned that people will forget what you Said
People will forget what you Did
But people will Never forget how you made them Feel
