LSR Class 28 Wraps Up Legacy Project at Roseland Collegiate Prep
On Saturday a dedicated group of Leadership Santa Rosa Class 28 volunteers convened to wrap up their legacy project at Roseland Collegiate Prep by installing basketball and tetherball poles. Everything went according to plan including digging the four and a half foot deep hole for the basketball hoop. (View more photos)
Requiring months of planning, the overall project was a significant undertaking that took the whole class to realize. In total, LSR Class 28:
- Worked with the students to come up with the layout and features they wanted;
- Created a plan for the quad incorporating many of the students' ideas;
- Raised over $5,000 from LSR class participants, private individuals and local businesses to purchase equipment and materials; and
- Volunteered time on two separate occasions to construct the new student quad.
"Everything turned out great, and the students are very happy," said Matt Kennedy, Project Manager at GHD and Class 28 alumnus.
Roseland Collegiate Prep Principal, Amy Jones-Kerr, agreed: "The students don’t use their covered outdoor eating area for lunch anymore. They would much rather hang out in their new quad!"
