Kevin Smith Honored with Spirit of Sonoma Award

The Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce honored Kevin Smith of Agilent Technologies with the Spirit of Sonoma Award for his work spearheading the creation and launch of Sonoma County BEST (Building Economic Success Together).

Serving as Chair of the Chamber’s Economic Vitality Division, he helped develop the award-winning Growth and Innovation Council, which has been a forum to connect entrepreneurs with capital for their businesses, and chaired the effort to create BEST. Along with two other Agilent executives, Mark Pierpoint and Jeff Weber, Kevin conducted extensive research and created a white paper with recommendations on Chamber strategies and programs to promote economic development and create high-paying jobs in Sonoma County. This work culminated in the Chamber’s BEST program, which Kevin has guided and unfailingly supported through to its successful capital campaign, hiring of an executive director and initial work on creating jobs.
