GO-Biz Rapid Response RFI - CA Port Sites
The Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) is requesting immediate assistance in the search for vacant, immediately usable sites that may be available for temporary holding of cargo containers.
The Port of Oakland is facing an increase of cargo containers sitting on the docks and causing disruptions to the local, state, and national goods movement supply chain. The California agricultural sector has been particularly impacted. The Port requires additional space to temporarily store containers that are currently stacking up at port terminals.
GO-Biz is seeking assistance through this RFI in evaluating sites within 80-100-mile radius of the Port that may be privately held or held by a government agency, to be used for the temporary holding of loaded and/or empty containers, from the Port. In addition, there’s also a Port Site Selection Excel Sheet for site information.
