Downtown Ambassadors Hitting the Streets
The Downtown Action Organization (DAO) Board is excited to share with you an update on the recently created Community Benefit District (CBD) and the hiring of the new Streetplus Team.
Streetplus is a company that specializes in the maintenance and security of Community Benefit Districts throughout the country. The Safety and Service Team will begin providing services throughout the District next week. This group will work to improve, promote, and enhance the overall attractiveness of the District by providing safety, hospitality, and maintenance services. The team has been hired from our local workforce and will be trained to perform maintenance duties, including litter and graffiti removal control, weed abatement, and power washing, as well as visibility and presence patrols. They will also be trained in homeless outreach and work closely with the police to address quality of life issues. Lastly, the team will provide general hospitality services for business owners, residents visiting the downtown, and tourists.
The Safety and Service Team will have access to a high-tech program that enables them to immediately document all services requested, including specific details, locations, and photos. Stay tuned for more information as to how businesses can report problems as well.
The staff will be dressed in royal blue uniform shirts with the new Downtown District logo on them. Be sure to introduce yourself when you see them. Soon they will get to all of your businesses and stop by to say hello.
