CVB Attends World's Leading Conference & Expo for the Sports-Event Industry

Representatives from the Santa Rosa Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) attended the TEAMS '13 conference and expo in Salt Lake City, UT, where they met with sports event organizers and industry leaders in an effort to attract them to Santa Rosa.

One of the fastest growing and most resilient segments of the tourism industry, the estimated size of the entire sport industry is $425 billion, making it one of the top 10 largest industries in the US.

“It’s all about enhancing the economic impact these events bring to our community,” said Brad Calkins, Executive Director of the CVB. “We met with a variety of organizers who signaled interest in hosting future events in our beautiful wine country. And on top of that, part of the conference covered new ways to calculate and report in terms of the net new impact and overall economic impact of events like these.”

The CVB provides no-cost hospitality services for groups and events, including sourcing hotel accommodations and providing information and marketing materials for participants who play, stay, wine and dine in our magnificent place of plenty.
