Council Disappoints on Rent Control – Comprehensive Approach Needed
Despite a massive turnout by the business community on Tuesday night, the Santa Rosa City Council gave staff direction to further pursue rent control for Santa Rosa.
"We were extremely disappointed by their decision," said Jonathan Coe, Chamber President and CEO. "It reflects a failure to understand the problem – a lack of housing supply – and chooses to put a 'band aid' on the problem rather than creating a comprehensive, thorough going solution."
The Chamber has stated its support for – and will continue to push for – a broad based approach to our housing crisis that considers a variety of strategies that emphasize the building of more housing units. For more information, contact Chamber Vice President of Public Policy, Kelly Bass Seibel.
