Convening North Bay Chambers to form combined Legislative Agenda
Chamber representatives from Sonoma and Marin counties convened last week at the North Bay Chamber Legislative Summit to prepare an agenda for the Cal Chamber’s Capitol Summit May 23.
Hosted by the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber and the San Rafael Chamber, this event featured keynote addresses from both Supervisor James Gore, District 4, and Assemblymember Marc Levine, District 10, who answered policy questions and provided strategic advice for creating an effective legislative agenda.
Attendees representing Santa Rosa, San Rafael, Novato, Sonoma Valley and Petaluma Chambers and Sonoma County Alliance discussed legislative priorities to focus on in preparation for the Sacramento trip. Topping the list were housing, transportation, education/workforce development, and homelessness. Conversations moved from the full group to break-out sessions to facilitate topic-specific action items. These action items will be used to assemble the legislative agenda that will direct discussions with representatives in Sacramento.
