Connecting Santa Rosa: New Routes, New Opportunities
Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport (STS) has announced that Southwest Airlines will begin serving the North Bay on April 7, 2026.

The airline will launch with nonstop service to San Diego, Burbank, Las Vegas, and Denver, giving local travelers more options for both business and leisure. The addition of Denver also opens up convenient connections to destinations across the U.S. through Southwest’s national network.
Bringing Southwest to the Sonoma County Airport has been a longstanding priority for local leaders. This accomplishment is a testament to the vision, persistence, and leadership of Jon Stout and the Sonoma County Airport team, whose dedication made this milestone possible.
The Santa Rosa Metro Chamber, alongside other community partners – like Sonoma County Tourism whose outstanding hospitality helped showcase the best of our region during Southwest’s visits – was honored to support those efforts and help demonstrate the strength of market demand and the opportunity that Sonoma County represents. Together, we celebrate this exciting win for our region and the expanded opportunities it will bring to residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
