Chop's Teen Club Tour
On February 15 we toured Chop’s Teen Club in Santa Rosa. The 21,000 square foot facility houses several activity rooms ranging from an industrial kitchen, an art studio, a gymnasium equipped with a basketball court and rock-climbing wall, a modern tech and gaming lounge, a music recording studio, quiet study spaces, and so much more!
The non-profit organization opened its doors back in 2001 and has been engaging Sonoma County’s 7th through 12th graders ever since. @chopsteenclub is a free choice facility where teens, under the guidance of staff mentors, have a safe space to grow as individuals, learn valuable communication skills, and discover their passions through many different programs.
In partnership with their Work-Ready program, Chop’s teens helped run our Winter Lights 2022 skate shack at the rink in Downtown Santa Rosa. We’re so excited to continue to collaborate with Chop’s Teen Club and to develop more community engagement and Work-Ready opportunities for their students!
While Chop’s Teen Club is designed for teens, the club hosts events for us adults as well, including the upcoming Dancing Through the Decades adult prom! The facility also rents out space for meetings and group gatherings. They’ve even hosted meetings for our Leadership Santa Rosa class 39 in the café known as Club 509—formerly Santa Rosa’s oldest restaurant named Lena’s.
