Chamber Endorses Measure A, Urges YES Vote
The Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce has been fighting since 1906 for a vibrant economy, including common sense laws that promote economic development and job creation. That’s why the Chamber endorses Measure A and urges you to vote YES on your mail-in ballot or as you vote in person on June 2nd. Measure A is our best chance to start repairing up to 700 miles of city streets and rural roads in Sonoma County that have literally been allowed to crumble.
Measure A increases the sales tax by on quarter of one percent – much less than the hidden tax paid by our local businesses because of our terrible road conditions. A recent study showed that roads and bridges that are deficient, congested or lack desirable safety features cost Bay Area motorists more than $2,200 each year.
Measure A holds elected officials accountable by requiring annual audits and voter approval to extend the tax beyond five years.
Please join the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, virtually every group in our county, and thousands of your neighbors in support of Measure A.
