Beyond the numbers: vital to our community, deserving of affordable housing
Thank you to The Press Democrat for sharing the progress and achievements of the Sonoma County Housing Fund, a partnership between the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber and Housing Trust Silicon Valley, in its recent article.
The four developments financed by the Sonoma County Housing Fund will provide critically needed housing for teachers, first responders, child care and social service workers, individuals in the restaurant and construction industries, and seniors among others; homes for our friends, relatives, and people we all rely on in our community.
In just a couple years, the Sonoma County Housing Fund has leveraged a $2 million investment by Kaiser Permanente into nearly $5 million investment through the partnership with Housing Trust Silicon Valley to get four housing developments off the ground across the county. These four projects have created over 350 new homes for individuals and families. Three more projects are soon to come, which will provide another 250 homes.
The impact of these housing initiatives extends far beyond physical structures; they provide stability, security, and a brighter future for the individuals and families who form the backbone of our community, and they are vital for the health of our business community.
