Ballot measure recommendations from Chamber Advocacy Council
Every election year, the Metro Chamber's Advocacy Council provides recommendations on statewide and local ballot measures that are critical to Santa Rosa's and Sonoma County's future. A Ballot Measure Task Force of our Advocacy Council convened several times to examine the state and local ballot measures that will appear on the November ballot. Task Force recommendations were approved by both the broader Advocacy Council and the Chamber Board.
LOCAL MEASURES
SUPPORT
MEASURE I - Amend City Charter to Affirm District Elections
This measure is necessary to codify Santa Rosa’s legally required move to district elections.
MEASURE J - Amend City Charter to Modernize Language/Procedures
This is a necessary package of minor technical changes to the City’s Charter to add clarity and remove conflicting language and operational changes such as allowing for a two-year budgeting process.
MEASURE H - Public Safety Sales Tax Renewal
This renewal will fund necessary public safety positions and resources, and critical fire department infrastructure while investing in preventative programs that ultimately save taxpayers money.
MEASURE C - Santa Rosa City Schools High School District Bond
AND
MEASURE G - Santa Rosa City Schools Elementary School District Bond
These school bond measures will fund needed repairs and updates to SRCS classrooms, portables, science labs, learning technology and job training facilities. Local funding sources such as these are essential in order to leverage available state funds for our local students. These two bonds are necessary investments in the learning opportunities for Santa Rosa’s students today and an investment in our future workforce.
