Amplifying Chamber advocacy efforts
Metro Chamber CEO, Peter Rumble, was recently elected co-chair of the Regional Economic Association Leaders of California (REAL) Coalition, a statewide group made up of 20 of California's most influential business associations.
The group has two chairs/co-chairs, one representing Northern California and one Southern California. Paul Granillo from the Inland Empire Economic Partnership is the co-chair for Southern California. Peter will also be co-chairing the group’s Policy Committee with the LA Chamber CEO, Maria Salinas.
Serving on the Coalition provides an enhanced platform to advocate for the Metro Chamber’s legislative policy goals, amplifying our voice on state-level issues.
Founded in 2008 by Lucy Dunn, then President and CEO of the Orange County Business Council and Carl Guardino, then President and CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership, the REAL Coalition collectively represents 15,000 employers and 3.9 million jobs in California. The REAL Coalition convenes throughout the year and works collaboratively to advance statewide policies relating to quality of life and economic competitiveness.
The work of the REAL Coalition is coordinated, developed, and accomplished by statewide conference calls and in-person strategy sessions throughout the year. As a Coalition, we advocate on statewide legislative and policy items that address California's economic health, education and workforce, water and the environment, and transportation infrastructure.
