Winegrowers President Karissa Kruse in DC for discussion on women’s global economic empowerment
Sonoma County Winegrowers President and Metro Chamber board member, Karissa Kruse, was in Washington DC on March 5 for the launch of the State Department’s Global Women‘s Empowerment Initiative, attending an invitation-only discussion with leaders from the private and public sector on women’s global economic empowerment at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The conversation provided an opportunity to discuss public/private sector collaboration to advance women’s economic opportunities, promote female entrepreneurship, and lift barriers for full economic participation.
Senior business leaders and senior officials from U.S. government agencies have been invited to attend this dialogue, which will feature Manisha Singh, Acting Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment and Michelle Bekkering, Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3), USAID, along with other senior private sector officials.
