Wine Country Hotel Concierge Awarded Top Honor
Mr. Chris Morano, Chief Concierge at the Fountaingrove Inn, Hotel and Conference Center, has been named Outstanding Lodging Employee of 2015 by the California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA). Morano was presented with this prestigious honor at San Diego’s US Grant Hotel on November 19th, at the annual CH&LA meeting and Stars of the Industry awards luncheon.
The annual Stars of the Industry awards, presented by USA TODAY, are given out to honor lodging employees and properties that best symbolize the quality service of the industry. The 2015 awards were given out for five property and six individual categories, as well as one industry supplier category.
“The California Hotel & Lodging Association is honored to recognize our 2015 winners,” said CH&LA President & CEO Lynn Mohrfeld. “Our congratulations go out to each of these individuals and properties for their continued dedication and outstanding contributions to our state’s lodging industry.”
Morano, who began working at the Fountaingrove in February of 2011, says “It’s rewarding to work for a General Manager who recognizes the value of Concierge Services as much more than a hotel amenity.” The Fountaingrove General Manager, Mr. Justin Hayman, notes that “Chris’ personal touch has made a noticeable and positive impact on how guest services are delivered; I truly enjoy watching him interact with our guests.”
As the winner of this award, Morano is a nominee for a 2016 Star of the Industry Award, presented by the American Hotel and Lodging Association, to be presented on May 17th, 2016, at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC.
Morano was awarded 2014 Sonoma County Certified Tourism Ambassador of the Year, Central County (presented annually by the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau); he has been a member of the Northern California Concierge Association (NCCA) since 2005, and has served on the NCCA Board of Directors for seven years.
