The Living Room Moves to its New Home May 2
The Living Room is about to experience a truly historic moment! On April 27, 2016, The Living Room moves its operation from 636 Cherry Street to 1207 Cleveland Avenue, Santa Rosa. This event marks the culmination of a 2-year effort to complete construction/renovation of our newly purchased property. On May 2, TLR staff and volunteers will resume providing meals and services at the Cleveland Avenue facility, now expanded to include laundry and showers. On May 18, the public is invited to attend our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, sponsored by the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce!
Since 1993, The Living Room has been occupying space at Church of Incarnation. Due to the growing number of homeless women and children who rely on us, moving to a larger facility was badly needed. After a lot of hard work by TLR board members and staff, generous donations from the community, and an in-kind construction team, our dream to own our home has come true! While most of the renovation will be completed soon, some work will take place over time. We call upon individuals and businesses in the community to help us finish our project. Donations can be made online on our website or by mail. Contributions large or small are greatly appreciated. Since we receive less than 15% of our funding from government sources, our existence depends on the generosity of others.
