The Living Room Life Center Opening
The Living Room Center, Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of its new day center specifically designed for women and children experiencing, or at-risk of experiencing, homelessness. The grand opening for services is March 21, 2022. The center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays. The new center is located at 1335 North Dutton Avenue in Santa Rosa.
The Life Center will offer health focused services at the site as well as a warm-hand-off to other partner agencies if necessary. The Life Center is modeled after best-practice social service centers designed to remove barriers for those needing help. By having multiple services, agencies, and organizations present women should not have to navigate complex community systems on their own. If they choose, each participant can request a trained mentor or guide to support them. Peer to peer support specialists are available each day to provide lived experience expertise.
Services range from computer lab, phone charging, art therapy, housing, health services, support groups, job interview and resume assistance, legal aid, SSI/SSD, mental health services, SNAP (EBT) cards, and recovery and healing groups, veterinarian, public health, and much more.
The Living Room still operates its initial campus on Cleveland, but when COVID closures were implement in March of 2020, the campus was converted to housing and their food services were converted to serve their residents and other at-risk groups such as the elderly and aged-out foster youth. Their portfolio of eight housing units include comprehensive support services.
