The Center for Creative Arts moves programs to Child Parent Institute
The Center for Creative Arts (CCA) has successfully moved its programs to the Child Parent Institute (CPI). This transition means the CCA programs in public schools, The Living Room, and Burbank Housing will not only continue, but will continue to grow.
“With the help of administrative staff at CPI, we successfully shifted programs that were at the heart of our work. Our programs, Simply Art: Express Yourself at the Living Room and Drawing Together at Burbank Housing sites, fit in well with CPI’s vision: building brighter futures for our children and families. I am excited to see our programs continue at CPI and look forward to now serving as part of its board.” Nancy Dougherty, board member of CCA.
“We are very excited to add the CCA programs to the Child Parent Institute family of services,” says Robin Bowen, Executive Director of CPI. “We have already begun to expand the programs by setting up the new creative arts group at the Rohnert Park Family Resource Center, as well as offering art therapy programs in six Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park schools.”
The transfer of these rewarding art programs to Child Parent Institute means that CCA has closed its doors. Any questions or requests related to the programs previously run by CCA should be directed to CPI at (707) 585-6108.
Child Parent Institute, formerly the California Parenting Institute (CPI), was founded in 1978 and remains resolute in its mission to “end child abuse and strengthen the health of children, parents and families.” CPI has a solid history of community engagement and advocacy for children and families. We are a recognized provider of effective parent education and support programs, children’s mental health services, and trauma-informed education for grades 6-12. Last year more than 3,000 families received our services.
