Sonoma County Library Launches Palace Project App
As part of Sonoma County Library’s participation in the eBooks for All grant through the California State Library, the library is launching the Palace Project app to library patrons. The Palace Project app houses multiple eBook and eAudiobook collections, conveniently searchable in one place. Find, check out, download and read over 245,000 titles—all you need is your library card.
“The Palace Project app brings together Sonoma County Library’s eBooks and eAudiobooks from multiple sources, such as Libby and enki, into a single collection for children, teens and adults,” said Collection Services Division Manager Jaime Anderson. “In addition, we’re currently investing in indie authors and independently published works, not available through other platforms, to make the collection even more broad and interesting.”
The Palace Project name was chosen to highlight the central role libraries play in public life and the idea of public libraries as “Palaces for the People.”
Informed by librarians and supported by a multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment from the Knight Foundation, The Palace Project is an easy-to-use platform for the management and delivery of eBooks, eAudiobooks and other eContent and puts libraries at the center of their communities’ digital experience.
The Palace Project app is available for IOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) devices. To learn more about the Palace Project app, visit sonomalibrary.org/palace.
