Sonoma Clean Power Announces 2015 Board of Directors, Petaluma and Rohnert Park Newest Cities Represented
Sonoma Clean Power (SCP) has recently named their Board of Directors for 2015. With the cities of Rohnert Park and Petaluma the most recent to join SCP, those cities become the latest to appoint representatives to the Board of the not-for-profit public agency that is Sonoma County’s default electricity provider, offering electricity with 30% lower greenhouse gas emissions at rates 5-8% below PG&E.
The following representatives comprise the 2015 Sonoma Clean Power Board of Directors: Chair, Mark Landman – Cotati City Councilmember; Vice Chair, Patrick Slayter – Mayor, City of Sebastopol; Immediate Past Chair, Susan Gorin - Sonoma County Supervisor; David Cook – Mayor, City of Sonoma; Bob Cox – Mayor, City of Cloverdale; Dave King – Petaluma City Councilmember; Bruce Okrepkie – Mayor, Town of Windsor; Don Schwartz – Assistant City Manager, Rohnert Park and Gary Wysocky – Santa Rosa City Councilmember.
"It's been rewarding to be part of the group that successfully proved the benefits of Sonoma Clean Power in our inaugural year. As the 2015 Board Chair for the agency, I look forward to working with my fellow Directors to continue successfully delivering competitively priced power that reduces greenhouse gas emissions,” said Board Chair Mark Landman. “I believe Sonoma County has the potential for a very bright future, and I see Sonoma Clean Power as an important part of helping us get there."
SCP began serving their first phase of customers in May 2014. Their third phase of customer enrollment includes the cities of Cloverdale, Rohnert Park and Petaluma. “Reflecting on SCP’s first year of service to customers, I’m extremely proud of what’s been accomplished,” said Immediate Past Board Chair, Supervisor Susan Gorin. “All eligible Sonoma County cities are now participating and benefiting from our locally run energy provider,” Gorin added.
Sonoma Clean Power is a not-for-profit pubic agency providing cleaner electricity to residential and commercial customers in all Sonoma County cities (with the exception of Healdsburg who has their own municipal utility) and the unincorporated areas of the county.
