SDM Magazine Ranks Top 100 Alarm Companies

Santa Rosa's Advanced Security Systems Nabs No. 76 Spot

SANTA ROSA, CALIF.—A focus on strategic acquisitions and providing outstanding local service is delivering positive results for Advanced Security Systems. The company was recently ranked No. 76 by Security Distributing & Marketing in its annual list of the top 100 security companies in the country. The SDM 100 list surveys more than 1,300 security companies in the U.S. to determine its rankings.

“It’s a great honor to be included on this list, especially because we were able to improve our rank from 82 to 76 this year,” says Chuck Petrusha, president and CEO of Advanced Security Systems. “Being included on this list of the top 100 security companies in America is a reflection of the great people at our company and our service commitment to our customers.”

The report ranks U.S. companies that earn revenues from the sale, installation, service, and monitoring of electronic security systems. SDM 100 firms are ranked by their recurring monthly revenue, the total number of subscribers, and sales revenue.

Established in 1971, the family-owned Advanced Security Systems has experienced significant growth recently. In April 2019, Advanced Security Systems acquired K&R Security, one of the oldest and most established alarm companies in Petaluma, Calif. Previous acquisitions and sales growth led to an 8.85 percent increase in monthly revenue in 2018. Collectively, the SDM 100 companies saw a 2 percent increase in monthly revenue.

Advanced Security Systems installs and services burglar and fire alarms, video surveillance, and access control systems locally for more than 9,000 business, residential, and governmental customers throughout Northern California and Southern Oregon.
