Redwood Credit Union Offers Free Shred-a-Thon in Santa Rosa, May 20
Visitors can securely dispose of sensitive documents and electronics
Santa Rosa, Calif. – Redwood Credit Union invites the Sonoma County community to come out to its annual free document shredding event on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 9 a.m. to noon at their administrative offices at 3033 Cleveland Avenue in Santa Rosa. The popular Shred-a-Thon event will feature free document shredding provided by Shred-It and electronic waste (e-waste) collection by Conservation Corps North Bay.
Attendees may bring up to three boxes (15”x12”x10”) of confidential documents for shredding, such as old financial statements, canceled checks, and credit card offers. Conservation Corps North Bay will also be on site to collect and recycle e-waste such as old computers, printers, cell phones, and personal electronics.
“We’re happy to offer this free service for the community to help people securely dispose of their sensitive documents and e-waste,” said Matt Martin, RCU’s senior vice president of community and government relations. “Properly disposing of old financial documents and other confidential information is crucial to safeguarding oneself against identity theft, and we love being able to support the community in this way.”
Monetary donations will be accepted by Conversation Corps North Bay, our partner for e-waste collection and nonprofit dedicated to helping young people achieve their goals through education and job skills, while serving the environment and community.
