Prepare for Emergencies with Your Library
The Sonoma County Library and its partners recognize Emergency Preparedness Month by hosting events to help residents prepare in case of an emergency. Learn more about emergency preparedness at the below events:
Santa Rosa Firefighter Story Hour
Join your local firefighter for a special reading of “Plan and Prepare!” by Charles Ghigna and check out one of the fire department’s special emergency vehicles. This event is for children in grades K-3 and is available at three library locations, September 12 – 23: Central Santa Rosa, Roseland, and Northwest Santa Rosa.
Join the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management as they break down what items belong in a go bag. This event is available at seven library locations, September 10 – October 22: Sebastopol, Rohnert Park-Cotati, Petaluma, Roseland, Guerneville, Central Santa Rosa, and Rincon Valley.
This interactive Disaster Preparedness presentation will teach five simple steps to stay safe during a disaster and is available at four library locations, October 4 – November 4: Guerneville, Roseland, Central Santa Rosa, and Sonoma Valley. Advance registration required and the events are presented in Spanish.
