Pen-for-Rent Principal Howard Daniel Named Marin Medicine Editor
First issue under his editorship just published.
Marin Medicine, the journal of the Marin Medical Society, has named Pen-for-Rent principal Howard Daniel its new editor. The magazine’s first issue under Daniel’s editorship, the Spring/Summer 2015 issue (Volume 61, No. 2) has just been published.
The highlight of the current issue is a highly informative, wide-ranging interview with the Marin Medical Society’s incoming president, Dr. Peter Bretan, which Daniel wrote up.
“Dr. Bretan is a transplant surgeon whose first job was picking beans on the farm of his parents, immigrants from the Philippines. As I interviewed him, he could barely contain his enthusiasm for the work he now does – saving lives – and the practice of medicine as a whole,” said Daniel.
“Dr. Bretan is also a candidate for the presidency of the California Medical Association,” said Daniel. “This adds to the interest inherent in the interview, which covers, among much else, his views on the Affordable Care Act, access to care for the indigent and disadvantaged, telemedicine and other innovations, the critical role that compensation plays in keeping physicians’ practices alive, the cost of medical care, and the importance of the California Medical Association and American Medical Association as much-needed advocates for physicians.”

Daniel noted that Marin Medicine does not take all of his available time and said that Pen-for-Rent continues to seek and welcome new clients. He encourages people to visit his website, www.pen4rent.com, to get a better idea of how he can help businesses engagingly convey their key messages to target audiences.
