New Roseland Library to Open Monday, Sept 13
The next chapter in the story of equity in Roseland starts now. Sonoma County Library is opening a new Roseland Regional Library at 470 Sebastopol Road on Monday, September 13, in the heart of Roseland.
The new, full-service library will be open six days a week, with evening and weekend hours. In addition, the Roseland branch will have bilingual staff and an expanded collection of books, DVDs, video games and other materials in Spanish and English available to borrow.
“The new temporary branch will allow us to grow as a center for education, learning and lifelong success in the Roseland community, and I am excited to help write this new chapter in the history of the Roseland Regional Library,” Roseland Regional Library Branch Manager Aleta Dimas said. “We can't wait to see families reading together, teens collaborating on homework or learning about new technology, and adults learning the skills they need to reach their life goals.”
While the new library will be a positive step forward, the Sonoma County Library is working actively with the City of Santa Rosa, the County of Sonoma, the Roseland Library Coalition, the Sonoma County Public Library Foundation and other partners on a vision for a permanent library in Roseland.
“We’re collaborating with our partners and community to create a full-service library in a permanent location in the near future. Your support of the Roseland Regional Library is vital while we continue to work on building a forever home for a Roseland Library,” Dimas said.
Starting September 13, visit the new Roseland Regional Library at 470 Sebastopol Road.
