Library’s Summer Reading Program Delivers Fun, Learning and Prizes
Sign up for Sonoma County Library’s 2021 Summer Reading Program for exploration, learning and fun. The Summer Reading Program runs from June 1 to August 14. Join the program and track your reading online at sonomalibrary.org, with the Beanstack Tracker App or by visiting your local library branch for paper logs.
“Reading connects us whether we're together or apart, so let's do this together!” said Kathy DeWeese, Youth Services Administrator at the Sonoma County Library. “Studies show that reading over the summer strengthens reading and math skills, and the virtual events and overall program we’ve set up make reading fun for all ages.”
eBooks, audiobooks, eAudiobooks, physical books, graphic novels and even books read out loud by a loved one...all reading counts. Record your minutes regularly to be eligible for weekly raffle prizes. Plus, earn free books when you read for eight hours and again at 16 hours. Reading time must be recorded on the Beanstack site (or turned in by paper log) by August 14 to be eligible for the grand prize raffle.
The library offers a variety of virtual events over the summer, encouraging children, teens and adults to learn and grow as part of the Summer Reading Program. Also, a community-wide scavenger hunt encourages families to explore the community and the library.
Take your favorite library materials home with curbside pickup and visit inside your library with Express Services. Returns are accepted at book drops during curbside hours or until the book drop is full. Additionally, your online library never closes. Sonoma County Library resources are online 24/7 at sonomalibrary.org, including thousands of films, TV shows, eBooks, databases, magazines, classes, videogames and more.
