Library’s Launches Mobile Library Branch—the ‘BiblioBus’
Sonoma County Library’s new BiblioBus—a mobile library branch—is on the move and coming to a community event near you! Fully loaded, the BiblioBus holds 600 items to browse and borrow including DVDs, bilingual baby books, graphic novels and copies of the library’s most requested books in English and Spanish.
“Having the BiblioBus at community events is an excellent demonstration of the reach and capacity of the Sonoma County Library to adapt its tools and services to the evolving needs of a diverse public,” said Sonoma Valley Regional Library Librarian Brian Lym.
Hop aboard the BiblioBus and:
- Browse a small collection of English and Spanish books for all ages
- Sign up for a library card
- Access free Wi-Fi
- Use laptop computers and entertainment devices
- Connect with knowledgeable library staff to receive book recommendations and get your questions answered
- Participate in specialized library programing such as bilingual story times, STEAM activities, one-on-one tech help and skill-building workshops
- And much more!
The BiblioBus supports Sonoma County Library's mission to bring information, ideas and people together to build a stronger community.
Mary Reynolds, Principal at Petaluma’s Miwok Valley Elementary Charter School, said that the BiblioBus is a “wonderful literacy opportunity for the [Sonoma County] community.”
