Kaiser Permanente appoints new Human Resources Leader for Marin/Sonoma
Judy Coffey, Sr. VP/Area Manager of Kaiser Permanente, Marin-Sonoma Service Area, announced the appointment of Michael Fanselau as Human Resources Leader for the Marin-Sonoma Service Area.
Since January of this year, Fanselau has served as interim HR Leader in addition to his role as Associate HR Leader for Marin-Sonoma. He joined Kaiser Permanente as Associate HR Leader in 2014, and has been providing expert HR consultation and assistance to leaders, managers and our labor partners.
Prior to joining KP, Fanselau held director-level positions at a number of health care organizations, including MedicAlert Foundation in Turlock, CA; multi-site and multi-state HR experience at Kindred Healthcare Hospital Division’s Northwest District; San Ramon Regional Medical Center in San Ramon, CA; Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in San Andreas, CA and the United States Army.
In the United States Army, Fanselaul was assigned to the Army Hospital at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and was deployed to Haiti as the HR Director for the US Army 131st Field Hospital assigned to a United Nations Mission.
Fanselau holds an M.S. degree in Health Care Administration from CSU Long Beach, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Management from CSU Sacramento. He also holds the SPHR and SHRM-SCP certification, and is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives.
