Kaiser Permanente appoints new Assistant Physician in Chiefs
Kaiser Permanente recently announced the appointment of two new Assistant Physician in Chiefs (APICs) at the Santa Rosa Medical Center.
Kendal Hamann, MD, has been named the APIC of Care Experience and Outpatient Quality. In addition to serving as the Chief of Endocrinology, Dr. Hamann has served in leadership roles for both local and regional Quality initiatives.
Dr. Hamann, who grew up in Novato, completed her residency and fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
“I am fascinated by the yin and yang of care experience and quality,” Dr. Hamann said. “Flexibility and curiosity about the perception of care can contrast and complement a systems-based approach using evidenced based algorithms. I am passionate about our organization’s operational excellence and social conscience, and I am very proud of our culture of accountability and collegiality in Santa Rosa.”
James Driscoll, MD, has been named APIC of Medical Specialties.
In addition to his work at Kaiser Permanente in the Pulmonology Department, Dr. Driscoll has served as the chair of the regional sleep lab directors and Sleep Medicine chiefs group for the past four years, partnering with peers and leaders from multiple medical centers.
Dr. Driscoll did his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, in Dallas, Texas, and a fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis, Mo.
“At Kaiser Permanente we have many goals, but the overarching one is to provide world-class, expedient, personalized care in the most cost-effective way possible,” Dr. Driscoll said.
