Boys & Girls Club of Greater Santa Rosa is now The Zones
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Santa Rosa is now...
High-quality youth enrichment since 1949.
With over 73 years experience serving Santa Rosa's families and youth, we’ve started a new chapter with an even greater emphasis on programs that directly impact and provide positive outcomes for our local community.
We offer high-quality after-school and summer enrichment programs for all youth at 1011 Hahman Drive, Santa Rosa. Youth develop skills and awareness in five core developmental "zones" while exploring and engaging in self-discovery through new experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why change the name?
Since 1949, The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Santa Rosa has been a member of the parent organization, Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA). BGCA is a federated model, meaning each club is operated independently of one another and of BGCA. BGCA provides several benefits for membership, including marketing, training resources, and a nationally recognized and regarded name.
Over the years, we have learned that we have the biggest impact when we adapt our programming to what is affecting youth in our local community. Most recently, this was made evident when we were challenged by wildfires in 2017 and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In both cases, we responded quickly and adapted our programming to meet the needs of youth and families. Today, we continue to adapt programming to best support youth experiencing pandemic-related learning gaps and loss.
As The Zones, we have greater flexibility and autonomy to adapt, modify, and build programs and activities that have the greatest impact on and produce the best possible outcomes for the youth we serve.
What does "The Zones" mean?
“The Zones” represents the five areas of focus or "zones" of our programming: The Athletic Zone, The Health & Wellness Zone, the Academic Zone, the Life Skills & Workforce Readiness Zone, and the Creative Arts Zone. Every activity and program we conduct is designed to reflect these areas of focus and generate positive learning experiences and outcomes that benefit youth.
How does this change affect membership?
The Zones is an independent 501c3 non-profit organization serving youth grades K-12 from diverse communities. Our membership fee structure accommodates full and part-time attendance, transportation, and reduced cost options (if needed).
Our new mission is to inspire and engage all youth through community-based educational and social enrichment in a purpose-driven, positive environment. The programs and activities we offer have an impact in the lives of youth with measurable outcomes.
Our strong community relationships enable us to draw on a diverse network of experts and volunteers bringing exciting and engaging learning opportunities and experiences to our members. As an independent non-profit, we can ensure that 100% of every dollar we raise stays in our organization and goes directly to the youth we serve.
Will there be changes to the population you serve or the programs you offer?
With more donor dollars directly impacting our programs and families, The Zones will be able to offer more scholarships, serve more families, and offer more diverse and dynamic programs and activities that meet unique needs in our community.
We look forward to having a greater influence in our community and expanding our reach to a wider membership and partner base as The Zones.
