POSITION: Executive Liaison
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The objective of this position will be to provide support to the Chief Executive Officer Leadership Team, and act as the liaison between the Board of Directors dependent. This position will also serve as the main interface and liaison for internal and external customer groups as it pertains to the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Developing and Maintaining Effective Relationships
- Serve as a liaison and executor between the Leadership Team and various internal and external customer groups, not limited to the Board of Directors, donors, staff etc.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with community partners who will engage with BI on various levels.
- Gather information and resources that will benefit and support BI’s administrative/program/operations areas.
- Execute a high level of customer service is provided to all various customer groups and serve as a point of contact for needs arising from these groups.
Project Management
- Independently coordinate and implement projects as assigned in the areas of the organization’s administration, human resources, program support, fundraising and or/public relations.
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize appropriately.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and execute events for up to 400 guests.
Administrative Support
- Provide general clerical and administrative support to the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
- Create engaging presentations for internal and external customer groups.
- Maintain calendar and contact information for CEO and Administrative Leadership.
- Initiate and execute annual review of the organization’s policies. Provide updates to all applicable parties.
- Organize and maintain CEO files, agency policies and resolutions.
- Provide proactive support to CEO.
Public Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Board Members, management and direct care staff, individuals served, and members of the community.
- Provide information to the public regarding agency services, finances, human resources and organization structure.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
EDUCATION: BA/BS degree in any of the following fields is desirable; Business Management, Administration, Communications, or related field is preferred. College level coursework in graphic design, resource development/community building, and/or customer service is desirable.
Required Experience:
- 2 years of Executive level office experience
- Experience working with non-profit board governance
- Experience with coordinating events, namely marketing and/or fundraising
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to compose correspondence, policies and procedures on behalf of the CEO.
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Intermediate to Advanced level skills in Google Mail, Google Calendar and Google Drive are desirable.
- Detail oriented with the ability to be proactive on behalf of the Leadership Team.

Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of current office practices and procedures, including business correspondence, filing and standard office equipment operation.
- Ability to perform clerical work involving independent judgment, accuracy and speed. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

- Ability to organize and coordinate a multitude of tasks and graphic assignments.
- Ability to relate well to the diverse population served by Becoming Independent.
- Valid California driver's license

- A physical condition that will permit frequent bending, turning, and lifting without injury
- First aid and CPR certification
- Criminal record clearance
