AMR Sonoma County Paramedics and EMTs Receive Perfect Accreditation Score
AMR-Sonoma Life Support in Sonoma County received re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) achieving a perfect score for its compliance with national standards of excellence.
Sonoma Life Support, the local division of American Medical Response (AMR) earned a perfect score in the voluntary review process that included an on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services.
With this achievement, AMR-Sonoma Life Support is one of only 20 accredited ambulance services in the state of California and the only accredited ambulance provider in Sonoma County.
The Commission is an independent nonprofit organization established to encourage and promote quality patient care in America’s medical transportation system. The primary focus of the Commission’s standards is high-quality patient care.
This is accomplished by establishing national standards that address the delivery of patient care, and also the ambulance service’s total operation and its relationships with other agencies, the public and the medical community. The Commission’s standards often exceed state or local licensing requirements.
AMR Regional Director Dean Anderson said accreditation “represents our dedication to our patients and community. We continuously strive to do our best and we viewed accreditation as another step toward excellence. Our staff has been instrumental to our successful completion of the process.”
“A perfect score is most impressive. The Sheriff’s Office has had a long standing working relationship with AMR. It is gratifying to know the paramedics and EMTs are performing at the highest possible level,” stated Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas.
Sonoma County EMS Administrator, Bryan Cleaver stated, “The perfect CAAS score highlights our close cooperation and partnership with AMR and out complete confidence in their ability. The high rating through CAAS validates that opinion.”
“Our commitment to high standards is integral to the service delivered to patients in their homes and in our community,” Anderson continued. “Everyone here played a valuable role in our ability to meet the Commission’s high standards. Our paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers and leaders all strive to deliver the highest level of service to our community. Accreditation recognizes the superior services provided and encourages us to continue to pursue opportunities for improvement.”
“AMR Sonoma Life Support provides us with the best equipment and the latest technology available to provide the highest level of care possible. Our re-accreditation from CAAS with a perfect score affirms our dedication to excellence, and I couldn't be prouder,” stated AMR Paramedic Brad Silvestro.
