Michael A. Cook
Mike created Firma Design Group with Marty in early 2011. Prior to forming the partnership, Mike was Principal of Michael A. Cook, Landscape Architect, a planning and landscape architecture firm based in Santa Rosa, California for over 3 years. For the eight years prior to his own firm, Mike worked for two different landscape architecture firms in the North Bay as a Project Manager and Senior Landscape Architect. Mike is a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA) that enables him to not only design highly-efficient landscape and irrigations systems, but also allows Mike to audit the systems (his design or not – as required by California Building Code) to ensure that the installation has been installed correctly and that the equipment and layout is the most efficient (this certification is completed through the Irrigation Association). Mike served on the City of Santa Rosa Design Review Board from 2011 - 2013.
Mike attended California State Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo, California for his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree (2001). While at Cal Poly, SLO, he was involved in the University community by starting the Cal Poly Golf Association and eventually the Division IAA Golf Team and belonged to the Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects. As a landscape architect, Mike has worked on most every type of project throughout California and takes pride in knowing that he is an expert at working with any owner in California, whether it be a private homeowner or a large municipality.
Mike enjoys playing golf when he’s not working, has two young daughters and lives in Santa Rosa with his family. He volunteers his time in many different ways and believes in making Santa Rosa/Petaluma and the North Bay an attractive place for doing business.

Senator Mike McGuire
Senator Mike McGuire is a third generation Northern Californian, whose family farmed prunes and grapes in the Alexander Valley for nearly a half century. Raised by his mom and grandma, Mike worked his way through high school and college and enjoyed a career in the radio and television industries.

Mike has always been a tireless advocate for our environment. He has helped protect and preserve tens of tens of thousands of acres of open space, watersheds and coast and he successfully fought to keep our regional and state parks open to the public.
