Member Development & Relations Manager

  • Hours: Full Time Exempt Position
  • Reports to: Vice President of Member Services
  • Salary Range: Up to $50k annual salary plus benefits
Position summary

Professional, dynamic, high energy and self-motivated Development and Relations Manager to join our team at the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber. While all Metro Chamber employees provide service to members and generate new membership, the Member Development and Relations Manager serves as the point person for new member sales, membership upgrades, event and other sponsorship sales and relationship/retention management.

  • Highly motivated with B2B sales experience
  • Relationship building/networking skills and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Santa Rosa business community and Metro Chamber of Commerce
  • Ability to set and meet goals independently
  • Proven selling and closing skills
General Duties
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of the Metro Chamber and its various programs
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the various Metro Chamber membership levels and the benefits each provides a business
  • Manage established retention strategy and client/membership relationship plan
  • Manage member engagement through coordination of monthly mixers, ribbon cuttings and our Ambassador Program
  • Pursue leads provided by Member Services Committee, Chamber Board, Senior Staff as well as identify prospective Metro Chamber members, implementing a personal monthly sales plan
  • Represent the Metro Chamber professionally and positively at major Chamber events, i.e. Annual Gala, Business Showcase, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by VP of Member Services
Preferred Background, Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum three years outside sales experience
  • Proven sales/conversion record
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to understand and articulate value proposition of Metro Chamber membership
  • Membership sales and membership-based organization experience preferred
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and database programs
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Professional demeanor

Position Summary

The Receptionist is a primary point of contact for most of our visitors, volunteers and members; as such this position is responsible for all incoming calls, providing information and direction to callers, visitors and members as well as providing administrative support across the organization to include Membership, major Events and all Programs of the Chamber.  The position is multi-faceted, varies day to day in pace, and requires diligence and prioritization.

  • Greet clients and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude
  • Assist members/volunteers/visitors in finding their way around the office, meeting rooms, etc.
  • Help maintain workplace security by issuing, checking and collecting name badges as necessary or applicable
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Answer phones in a professional manner, providing accurate information and/or routing calls as necessary
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail, deliveries and website email
  • Process check/credit card payments
  • Prepare meeting and training rooms
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings
  • Assist colleagues with administrative tasks including copying, faxing and data entry
  • Performing ad-hoc administrative duties
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory of stock
  • Other duties as assigned
Related Experience/Skills
  • Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data entry and internet literacy/proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. copier, printer and fax)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • Familiarity with Santa Rosa and its surrounding areas
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit/type for extended periods of time
  • Ability to frequently walk to and from meeting rooms, moving chairs and tables (on wheels)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
